The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 764 residues, a mass of 86.8 kDa, and is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 protein family. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane and is reported to be expressed in thyroide cells. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated and sulfated.
