The purpose of this experiment was to quantify the level of TSH in a dried blood spot. The application of dried blood spots over whole blood or serum is to cater to remote patients and provide at-home healthcare.

The standard curve results consistently gave an excellent curve. No values on the curve or within our patient samples fell outside of the range.

The Good

Excellent curve with high accuracy and precision. Easy to follow procedure with repeatable results.

No set diluent (use the 0 standard), PBS results in slightly high CV issues.

The Bottom Line

This was used to quantify the levels of TSH in dried blood spots. The result values are repeatable, though accuracy is sacrificed slightly with the high dilution required to elute the sample from the paper card. Overall, this is an excellent kit that gave no issues in the validation process.
