SERPINA1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein serpin family A member 1, which is encoded by the SERPINA1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known as an inhibitor of serine proteases. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 418 residues, a mass of 46.7 kDa, and is a member of the Serpin protein family. It is known to be localized in the ER, extracellular matrix, and is secreted and is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally N-glycosylated and cleaved. The SERPINA1 gene has been associated with the disease, Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency.
