PLEC ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein plectin, which is encoded by the PLEC gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to be involved in cytoskeleton organization. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 4684 residues, a mass of 531.8 kDa, and is a member of the Plakin or cytolinker protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasm and is reported to be widely expressed with highest levels in muscle, heart, placenta and spinal cord. As many as 9 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally phosphorylated. The PLEC gene has been associated with the disease, Epidermolysis bullosa simplex. Other alias names for this target include EBS5A, EBS5B, EBS5C, EBS5D, EBSMD, EBSND, EBSO, and EBS1.
Some PLEC ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 0.312 ng/mL and as high as 100 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
