MPL ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein MPL proto-oncogene, thrombopoietin receptor, which is encoded by the MPL gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a known receptor for thrombopoietin that acts as a primary regulator of megakaryopoiesis and platelet production. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 635 residues, a mass of 71.2 kDa, and is a member of the Type I cytokine receptor protein family. It is known to be localized in the golgi and cell membrane and is noted to be expressed at a low level in a large number of cells of hematopoietic origin. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally ubiquitinated and glycosylated. The MPL gene has been associated with the disease, Congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia. Other alias names for this target include CD110, MPLV, THCYT2, THPOR, TPOR, thrombopoietin receptor, TPO-R, and C-MPL.
The detection range for different MPL ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 21.88 pg/mL and as high as 600 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
