CTSD ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein cathepsin D, which is encoded by the CTSD gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to be involved in the regulation of apoptosis and proteolysis. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 412 residues, a mass of 44.6 kDa, and is a member of the Peptidase A1 protein family. It is known to be localized in the lysosomes and is reported to be expressed in the aorta extracellular space. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally O-glycosylated and cleaved. The CTSD gene has been associated with the disease, Ceroid lipofuscinosis. Other alias names for this target include CPSD, HEL-S-130P, ceroid-lipofuscinosis, neuronal 10, epididymis secretory sperm binding protein Li 130P, lysosomal aspartyl peptidase, and CLN10.
Some CTSD ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 2.74 pg/mL and as high as 270 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
