ASS1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein argininosuccinate synthase 1, which is encoded by the ASS1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to be one of the enzymes of the urea cycle, the metabolic pathway transforming neurotoxic amonia produced by protein catabolism into inocuous urea in the liver of ureotelic animals. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 412 residues, a mass of 46.5 kDa, and is a member of the Argininosuccinate synthase protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasm and is reported to be expressed in adult liver. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally acetylated. The ASS1 gene has been associated with the disease, Citrullinemia. Other alias names for this target include CTLN1, argininosuccinate synthase, argininosuccinate synthetase 1, citrulline-aspartate ligase, epididymis secretory sperm binding protein, and ASS.
The detection range for different ASS1 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 3 ng/L and as high as 150 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
