FER ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein FER tyrosine kinase, which is encoded by the FER gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to be a tyrosine-protein kinase that acts downstream of cell surface receptors for growth factors and plays a role in the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton, microtubule assembly, lamellipodia formation, cell adhesion, cell migration and chemotaxis. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 822 residues, a mass of 94.6 kDa, and is a member of the Tyr protein kinase protein family. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally ubiquitinated and phosphorylated. Other alias names for this target include TYK3, p94-Fer, tyrosine-protein kinase Fer, feline encephalitis virus-related kinase FER, and PPP1R74.
