The following PTEN induced kinase 1 ELISA kits are useful research tools for the measurement of PTEN induced kinase 1 in biological samples. In humans this protein is encoded by the PINK1 gene. This protein is reported to be a serine/threonine-protein kinase, which protects against mitochondrial dysfunction during cellular stress by phosphorylating mitochondrial proteins such as PRKN and DNM1L, to coordinate mitochondrial quality control mechanisms that remove and replace dysfunctional mitochondrial components. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 581 residues, a mass of 62.8 kDa, and is a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase protein family. Its subcellular location is known to be in the mitochondria and cytoplasm. In addition, it is reported to be highly expressed in heart, skeletal muscle and testis, and at lower levels in the brain, placenta, liver, kidney, pancreas, prostate, ovary and small intestine. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. In certain instances, it is also post-translationally cleaved and phosphorylated. The gene encoding this protein has been associated with the disease, Parkinson disease. This protein may also be known as PTEN induced putative kinase 1, PTEN-induced putative kinase protein 1, protein kinase BRPK, and serine/threonine-protein kinase PINK1, mitochondrial.
Some PTEN induced kinase 1 ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 0.156 ng/mL and as high as 20 ng/mL. Use the search filters to narrow your search and click on the ELISA kits below for more detailed information, such as reactivity and assay sensitivity.
