MAGED2 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein MAGE family member D2, which is encoded by the MAGED2 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to regulate the expression, localization to the plasma membrane and function of the sodium chloride cotransporters SLC12A1 and SLC12A3, two key components of salt reabsorption in the distal renal tubule. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 606 residues and a mass of 65 kDa. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The MAGED2 gene has been associated with the disease, Bartter syndrome. Other alias names for this target include BARTS5, BCG-1, BCG1, HCA10, melanoma-associated antigen D2, and 11B6.
