DHPS ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein deoxyhypusine synthase, which is encoded by the DHPS gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the NAD-dependent oxidative cleavage of spermidine and the subsequent transfer of the butylamine moiety of spermidine to the epsilon-amino group of a critical lysine residue of the eIF-5A precursor protein to form the intermediate deoxyhypusine residue. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 369 residues, a mass of 41 kDa, and is a member of the Deoxyhypusine synthase protein family. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The DHPS gene has been associated with the disease, Neurodevelopmental disorder with seizures and speech and walking impairment. Other alias names for this target include DS, MIG13, NEDSSWI, migration-inducing gene 13, and DHS.
