FTO ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein FTO alpha-ketoglutarate dependent dioxygenase, which is encoded by the FTO gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to be a RNA demethylase that mediates oxidative demethylation of different RNA species, such as mRNAs, tRNAs and snRNAs, and acts as a regulator of fat mass, adipogenesis and energy homeostasis. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 505 residues, a mass of 58.3 kDa, and is a member of the Fto protein family. It is known to be localized in the nucleus, cytoplasmic vesicles, and cytoplasm and is widely expressed across many tissue types. As many as 4 protein isoforms have been reported. The FTO gene has been associated with the disease, Growth retardation, developmental delay, and facial dysmorphism. Other alias names for this target include AlkB homolog 9, U6 small nuclear RNA (2'-O-methyladenosine-N(6)-)-demethylase FTO, U6 small nuclear RNA N(6)-methyladenosine-demethylase FTO, and alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase FTO.
The detection range for different FTO ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 93.75 pg/mL and as high as 20 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
