NEU1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein neuraminidase 1, which is encoded by the NEU1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the removal of sialic acid (N-acetylneuraminic acid) moieties from glycoproteins and glycolipids. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 415 residues, a mass of 45.5 kDa, and is a member of the Glycosyl hydrolase 33 protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles, lysosomes, and cell membrane and is reported to be highly expressed in pancreas, followed by skeletal muscle, kidney, placenta, heart, lung and liver. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally N-glycosylated and phosphorylated. The NEU1 gene has been associated with the disease, Sialidosis. Other alias names for this target include NEU, SIAL1, sialidase-1, G9 sialidase, N-acetyl-alpha-neuraminidase 1, and NANH.
The detection range for different NEU1 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 1.563 pg/mL and as high as 40 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
