Anti-MacMARCKS antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MacMARCKS is a known alias name of the protein MARCKS like 1, encoded by the MARCKSL1 gene in humans. This 195-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell proliferation and nervous system development, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for MacMARCKS include MARCKS-related protein, MARCKS-like protein 1, and mac-MARCKS.
