Anti-Metadherin antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the MTDH gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 582 amino acid residues and a mass of 63.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus, ER, and cytoplasm. The metadherin protein is involved with the regulation of apoptosis and the regulation of transcription, among other functions. Other names for this target antigen include 3D3/LYRIC, astrocyte elevated gene 1, astrocyte elevated gene-1 protein, lysine-rich CEACAM1 co-isolated protein, metastasis adhesion protein, and protein LYRIC.
