Anti-LIMK1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein LIM domain kinase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 647 amino acid residues and a mass of 72.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in both adult and fetal nervous system. A member of the TKL Ser/Thr protein kinase protein family, LIMK1 is a type of serine/threonine-protein kinase that plays an essential role in the regulation of actin filament dynamics. Synonyms for this target antigen include LIMK and LIM motif-containing protein kinase. LIMK1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 180 citations in the literature describe the use of LIMK1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
