Anti-Type I Collagen antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene COL1A1, or 'collagen type I alpha 1 chain' in humans. The 1464-amino acid protein is a member of the Fibrillar collagen family. The cellular localization is predicted to be secreted. Glycosylation sites have been reported.
