The gene may also be known as argonaute 2, RISC catalytic component, argonaute 2, Q10, CASC7, EIF2C2, and protein argonaute-2. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 97.2 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, plant, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
