Anti-SCP1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SCP1 is a known alias name of the protein synaptonemal complex protein 1, encoded by the SYCP1 gene in humans. This 976-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a major component of the transverse filaments of synaptonemal complexes, formed between homologous chromosomes during meiotic prophase. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in the testis.
