Anti-Pol Mu antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Pol Mu is a known alias name of the protein DNA polymerase mu, encoded by the POLM gene in humans. This 494-amino acid residue protein is known to be a gap-filling polymerase involved in repair of DNA double-strand breaks by non-homologous end joining (NHEJ). It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in a number of tissues. Other synonyms for Pol Mu include Tdt-N and DNA-directed DNA/RNA polymerase mu.
