Anti-SLG antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SLG antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SIGLEC12 gene, which encodes sialic acid binding Ig like lectin 12. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion, among other biological roles. The human version of SLG has a canonical amino acid length of 595 residues and a protein mass of 65 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells. SLG is a member of the SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) protein family. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for SLG antibodies.
