Anti-PLE21 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PLE21 is a known alias name of the protein ELAV like RNA binding protein 3, encoded by the ELAVL3 gene in humans. This 367-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a RNA-binding protein that binds to AU-rich element (ARE) sequences of target mRNAs, including VEGF mRNA. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to have brain specific expression. Other synonyms for PLE21 include HUC and HUCL.
