Anti-HIRS-1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HIRS-1 is a known alias name of the protein insulin receptor substrate 1, encoded by the IRS1 gene in humans. This 1242-amino acid residue protein is believed to mediate the control of various cellular processes by insulin. The term HIRS-1 is another synonym for HIRS-1.
