Anti-GHAP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target GHAP is a known alias name of the protein versican, encoded by the VCAN gene in humans. This 3396-amino acid residue protein is believed to play a role in intercellular signaling and in connecting cells with the extracellular matrix. It is localized to the extracellular matrix and is secreted of the cell and features glycosylated, cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in the placenta. Other synonyms for GHAP include CSPG2, CSPG2, and ERVR. Some GHAP antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
