Anti-MATR1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MATR1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SLCO2A1 gene, which encodes solute carrier organic anion transporter family member 2A1. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids and the transport of ions, among other biological roles. The human version of MATR1 has a canonical amino acid length of 643 residues and a protein mass of 70 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane, lysosomes and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the rectum, placenta, kidney, colon, and cerebral cortex. Other names for this target antigen include OATP2A1 and PGT.
