Anti-I-BAP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target I-BAP is a known alias name of the protein fatty acid binding protein 6, encoded by the FABP6 gene in humans. This 128-amino acid residue protein is known to bind to bile acids and is involved in enterohepatic bile acid metabolism. It is localized to the membrane and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in the small intestine. Other synonyms for I-BAP include I-15P, I-BABP, and I-BALB. Western Blot is the most common application for the I-BAP antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
