Anti-Gide antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The Gide antigen is another term for the human protein mitochondrial E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 1, encoded by the MUL1 gene. The protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and the regulation of cell growth, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 352 residues and a mass of 39.8 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and it is reported to be widely expressed with highest levels in the heart, skeletal muscle, placenta, kidney and liver.
