Anti-GATE16 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target GATE16 is a known alias name of the protein GABA type A receptor associated protein like 2, encoded by the GABARAPL2 gene in humans. This 117-amino acid residue protein is known to be a ubiquitin-like modifier involved in intra-Golgi traffic (By similarity). It is localized to the ER, Golgi, and cytoplasmic vesicles of the cell and features cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for GATE16 include ATG8, ATG8C, and GATE-16. Western Blot is the most common application for the GATE16 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
