Anti-crash antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the crash antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ASRGL1 gene, which encodes asparaginase and isoaspartyl peptidase 1. This protein is known to have both L-asparaginase and beta-aspartyl peptidase activity. The human version of crash has a canonical amino acid length of 308 residues and a protein mass of 32.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the cerebellum and cervix. crash is a member of the Ntn-hydrolase protein family.
