Anti-CST-14 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CST-14 is a known alias name of the protein cortistatin, encoded by the CORT gene in humans. This 105-amino acid residue protein is known to bind to all human somatostatin receptor (SSTR) subtypes. The protein is secreted and features post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in a subset of GABAergic cells in the cortex and hippocampus. Other synonyms for CST-14 include CST-17 and CST-29.
