Anti-CGD antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CGD is a known alias name of the protein cytochrome b-245 beta chain, encoded by the CYBB gene in humans. This 570-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a critical component of the membrane-bound oxidase of phagocytes that generates superoxide. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated, ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in neutrophils. Other synonyms for CGD include AMCBX2 and CGDX. Western Blot is the most common application for the CGD antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
