Anti-EMC6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ER membrane protein complex subunit 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 110 amino acid residues and a mass of 12 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. A member of the EMC6 protein family, EMC6 is known to be a part of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein complex (EMC) that enables the energy-independent insertion into endoplasmic reticulum membranes of newly synthesized membrane proteins. Synonyms for this target antigen include transmembrane protein 93. EMC6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
