Anti-DAIBAT antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene AGXT2, or 'alanine--glyoxylate aminotransferase 2' in humans. The 514-amino acid protein is a member of the Class-III pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. The cellular localization is predicted to be mitochondrial.
