DAIBAT, or Alanine--glyoxylate aminotransferase 2, is a human gene encoded by AGXT2. It may also be known as: Alanine--glyoxylate aminotransferase 2, mitochondrial; AGT 2; (R)-3-amino-2-methylpropionate--pyruvate transaminase; Beta-ALAAT II; Beta-alanine-pyruvate aminotransferase; D-AIBAT; Alanine-glyoxylate aminotransferase 2, mitochondrial; AGT2. The encoded protein is an enzyme with an amino acid length of 514 and a mass of 57.2 kDa. Other isoforms may exist. DAIBAT is a member of the Class-III pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. Homologs of this gene exist in other organisms, including: Frog.
