Anti-Ficolin 3 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the FCN3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 299 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.9 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the Ficolin lectin protein family, it is believed to function in innate immunity through activation of the lectin complement pathway. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include HAKA1, H-ficolin, collagen/fibrinogen domain-containing lectin 3 p35, collagen/fibrinogen domain-containing protein 3, ficolin (collagen/fibrinogen domain containing) 3 (Hakata antigen), and FCNH. Gene orthologs have been identified in the bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of Ficolin 3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Western Blot is also a common application.
