Anti-Metastasin antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Metastasin antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the S100A4 gene, which encodes S100 calcium binding protein A4. This protein is known to function in NF-kappaB signaling pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of Metastasin has a canonical amino acid length of 101 residues and a protein mass of 11.7 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, cytoplasm, and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow and kidney. Metastasin is a member of the S-100 protein family.
