Anti-PB1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PB1 is a known alias name of the protein submaxillary gland androgen regulated protein 3A, encoded by the SMR3A gene in humans. This 134-amino acid residue protein is believed to play a role in protection or detoxification. The protein is secreted and features post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the salivary gland. The term P-B1 is another synonym for PB1.
