Anti-PLA2G12 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PLA2G12 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PLA2G12A gene, which encodes phospholipase A2 group XIIA. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids, among other biological roles. The human version of PLA2G12 has a canonical amino acid length of 189 residues and a protein mass of 21.1 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm and is secreted of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. PLA2G12 is a member of the Phospholipase A2 protein family.
