Anti-PAP-alpha antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PAP-alpha is a known alias name of the protein poly(A) polymerase alpha, encoded by the PAPOLA gene in humans. This 745-amino acid residue protein is a reported polymerase that creates the 3'-poly(A) tail of mRNA's. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features sumoylated, acetylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for PAP-alpha include PAP, PAP, and PAP-alpha. Indicated applications for PAP-alpha antibodies listed below include ELISA and Western Blot.
