Anti-SCAM1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SCAM1 is a known alias name of the protein sorbin and SH3 domain containing 3, encoded by the SORBS3 gene in humans. This 671-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell adhesion and MAPK cascade signaling pathways, among other biological processes. It is localized to the extracellular matrix and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the heart muscle and skeletal muscle. The term SH3D4 is another synonym for SCAM1.
