Anti-CDN1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CDN1 is a known alias name of the protein BCL2 antagonist/killer 1, encoded by the BAK1 gene in humans. This 211-amino acid residue protein is reported to play a role in the mitochondrial apoptosic process. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in a wide variety of tissues, with highest levels in the heart and skeletal muscle. Other synonyms for CDN1 include BAK, BAK, and BAK-LIKE. Some CDN1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
