Anti-CDC28A antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CDC28A is a known alias name of the protein cyclin dependent kinase 1, encoded by the CDK1 gene in humans. This 297-amino acid residue protein is known to play an important role in the control of the eukaryotic cell cycle by modulating the centrosome cycle as well as mitotic onset; promotes G2-M transition, and regulates G1 progress and G1-S transition via association with multiple interphase cyclins. It is localized to the nucleus, mitochondria, and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated, cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for CDC28A include CDC2 and CDC2. Some CDC28A antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
