Anti-Rpt5 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Rpt5 is a known alias name of the protein proteasome 26S subunit, ATPase 6, encoded by the PSMC6 gene in humans. This 389-amino acid residue protein is a known component of the 26S proteasome, a multiprotein complex involved in the ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
