Anti-TMEM16J antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TMEM16J antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ANO9 gene, which encodes anoctamin 9. This protein is known to function in cellular localization and the metabolism of lipids, among other biological roles. The human version of TMEM16J has a canonical amino acid length of 782 residues and a protein mass of 90.3 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the testis, small intestine, seminal vesicle, and duodenum. TMEM16J is a member of the Anoctamin protein family.
