Anti-Keratin 6A antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene KRT6A in humans. The gene may also be known as K6D, CK-6C, CK-6E, CK6A, CK6C, keratin, type II cytoskeletal 6A, and cytokeratin 6A. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 60 kilodaltons in mass. The KRT6A marker can be used to identify Type 3 Medullary Thymic Epithelial Cells.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey and mouse orthologs may also be found.
