Anti-PCYOX1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein prenylcysteine oxidase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 505 amino acid residues and a mass of 56.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the lysosomes. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Prenylcysteine oxidase protein family, PCYOX1 is reported to be a prenylcysteine oxidase that cleaves the thioether bond of prenyl-L-cysteines, such as farnesylcysteine and geranylgeranylcysteine. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include PCL1 and prenylcysteine lyase. PCYOX1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the PCYOX1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
