Anti-STK6 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target STK6 is a known alias name of the protein aurora kinase A, encoded by the AURKA gene in humans. This 403-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the apoptotic pathway and cell division, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the testis and weakly in skeletal muscle, thymus and spleen. Other synonyms for STK6 include AIK, ARK1, and AURA.
