Anti-NCEH antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the NCEH antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NCEH1 gene, which encodes neutral cholesterol ester hydrolase 1. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids and protein dephosphorylation, among other biological roles. The human version of NCEH has a canonical amino acid length of 408 residues and a protein mass of 45.8 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the caudate and cerebral cortex. NCEH is a member of the GDXG' lipolytic enzyme protein family.
