Anti-BBS3 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BBS3 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ARL6 gene, which encodes ADP ribosylation factor like GTPase 6. This protein is known to function in cilium assembly and intracellular protein transport, among other biological roles. The human version of BBS3 has a canonical amino acid length of 186 residues and a protein mass of 21.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane, cell projections, and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. BBS3 is a member of the Arf protein family.
