Anti-ACOX2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein acyl-CoA oxidase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 681 amino acid residues and a mass of 76.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the peroxisomes. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the kidney and liver. A member of the Acyl-CoA oxidase protein family, ACOX2 is known to be involved with the metabolism of lipids and the response to oxidative stress. The ACOX2 gene has been associated with the disease, Congenital bile acid synthesis defect. Synonyms for this target antigen include BRCACOX, BRCOX, CBAS6, THCCox, and BCOX. ACOX2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of ACOX2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
