Anti-Trefoil Factor 3 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the TFF3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 80 amino acid residues and a mass of 8.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix, cytoplasm, and is secreted. It is reported to be expressed in goblet cells of the intestines and colon. It is reported to be involved in maintenance and repair of the intestinal mucosa. The trefoil factor 3 marker can be used to characterize Lymphatic Vessel Endothelial Cells.* Other names for this target antigen include P1B, TFI, polypeptide P1.B, trefoil factor 3 (intestinal), and ITF. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Over 50 citations in the literature describe the use of Trefoil Factor 3 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
